Horizon Academy is a registered nonprofit organization in Alberta, Canada. We strive to provide the highest quality education for children and adults of the community in a safe, healthy and ethnically diverse learning environment.

The Academy currently teaches in addition to Alberta Education, Arabic, Islamic Social Studies, Quran, and leadership.

We provide programs and services in education and leadership development through universal human values and modern best business practices. We measure our success through our ability to provide a culture of effectiveness, innovation, and trust while building a new generation of competent, knowledgeable and value-driven leaders.

Dear students, parents, and staff members,

Assalamu Alaikum & Welcome

I am so grateful to be entrusted with the headship of the Horizon Leadership Academy and be part of the Palliser Regional Schools family. Insh’Allah (God Willing), our focus will be on the following goals, consistently with Horizon’s vision “Developing leaders through transformational learning”:

• Students’ wellbeing by making the school a welcoming and appealing learning environment free from bullying, harassment, discrimination, and all kinds of hazards;
• Helping our children build strong character and develop the 21^st century and basic leadership skills that enable them to positively and competently contribute to their community and to the whole society at large;
• Developing students’ literacy and numeracy skills as these are the foundation of all academic excellence.
• Revamping the Arabic, Islamic social studies, and Quranic paradigms and curricula

In order to achieve the above-mentioned goals, we will be implementing the below ABC active approach:

A-- Achievement- HLA staff and administration are committed to helping each and every student work to his/her full potential.

B-- Behaviour- The academy is fully committed to helping our students become fully responsible for their own actions.  Our code of conduct is meant to help students reflect on their own actions and draw lessons out of their setbacks. A variety of progressive discipline strategies will be in place.

C—Celebrating Successes- Celebrating little successes lead to breeding bigger ones. Hence, our academy team is committed to highlighting as well as celebrating each accomplishment and every noticeable progress.

My team members and I are determined to doing all that it takes to take the academy to the next level. Accomplishing such a mission won’t be possible without your full support and cooperation, which I am optimistically expecting.  

May Allah (God), the Almighty, guide us to best serving our children and everyone around us.
